@SuspiciousChick, I too have 4 Turkens from TSC I'm watching. But what tickled me, is the fact that my nickname for TSC is The Suspicious Chick...

Your black turken looks like 2 of mine, like she’s wearing a striped scarf. So cute!I got 2 of the yellow Turkens from TS this year as well and they started the same size as the rest but have grow to double the size of their flock and they seem to be less hardy as well. both mine seemed to have a vitamin deficiency leading to trouble walking. None of the other breeds struggled with this at all. some supplements in the water and they are fine now but still seem to be growing faster than they can keep up with.. Im hoping they arent mixed with an unhealthy breed cause these are meant to join my laying flock.. interesting to hear others experiencing this too.
Looks like you got normal Turkens! Their markings are gorgeous! At 6.5 weeks they are still the same size as my other birds. Two of the four are pure black and two now have this other coloring that makes it looks like they are wearing scarves. Good luck, everyone.

Thank you so SO much for this update. I could cry for joy! Please do keep me updated if you’re willing. Ours are ANGELS. Even the two with them, a pure white non-NN and a reddish brown one with black marks on its wings. All the smaller chicks use them as beds and NO ONE accepted that we dared try to separate them to better manage their diets. I’m hoping us having to wait for that 6 week mark when everyone goes into the coop will not be too late to help get them on a healthy track. They lay down a lot but I’ve definitely seen them try to jump out of the brooder. They failed, but they sure did try.@Paradisewife @Draya @Candiland @newchickychick @Toasty525 @BlindLemonChicken
Update on my suspicious chicks if anyone is interested! My boys are now a little over two months and are 3x the size of my other 10 week old “normal” chicks. They have passed the 8 week mark of which they are supposed to be slaughtered, and they’re doing wonderfully! They run, jump, and play just like the other chicks and can roost normally. They are heavy and their feet are HUGE but that doesn’t stop them from living their chicken lives! They are incredibly sweet and they have brought so much joy into my lifeTheir names are Sunshine and Sweetpea.
I’ve been making sure they have been getting their veggies in and they love peas!
Yep my pair are doing well too! I have one hen one room their names are Jockey and Ryder lol they are sweet as hell and seem.healthy. large but they have slowed their growth and appear to be letting the other chick's catch up. Great news!@Paradisewife @Draya @Candiland @newchickychick @Toasty525 @BlindLemonChicken

That’s wonderful! So glad your chicks are doing well!Yep my pair are doing well too! I have one hen one room their names are Jockey and Ryder lol they are sweet as hell and seem.healthy. large but they have slowed their growth and appear to be letting the other chick's catch up. Great news!
That’s wonderful! I’ll be sure to take out scrambled egg for the others while I preoccupy them with veggies.I will definitely keep you updated!Mine have been absolute angels as well, they both like to tug at my shoe to let me know they’d like to have lap time! Awww, they’re so wide they look like a walking couch to the other chicks I suppose
I wouldn’t worry! Just make sure they get exercise and give them a generous amount of vegetables in their diet. Too much protein seems to have a negative affect on their health, so after they are no longer on chick feed, I would allow them to eat layer feed as the calcium is good for strengthening their bones. (That’s what I’ve seen people saying during my research!) Mine are still eating their chick feed but I let them outside for hours to let them eat grass and clover before filling their food bowl. I feed them their veggies BEFORE their feed because they LOVE their feed and they’ll hyper focus on it
I have a feeder that can be filled to hold feed for however long, but I haven’t been using that. I’ve been filling their food bowl everyday after they’ve exercised! Keep having hope and enjoy your not-so-little chicks! Mine are living (very spoiled) happy lives past their slaughtering age, and I believe that they can be with me for years to come
