Is it normal for a hen/pullet
to sit on her egg for 5-10 minutes after laying?

It’s not that I don’t want her to go broody, I just want to know if she is.

Yes. Some hens/pullets do linger in the nesting boxes after laying an egg. Why? I don't know...maybe it's comfy, they are having "ME time". I have an older hen that takes a little snooze for about 10mins after she lays her egg, then out she comes all revived by her beauty nap and announces the arrival of that egg LOL

IF you have a pullet/hen that goes broody, they will stay in place all day/night and only leave the nest box for a few minutes each day to poop, eat/drink.
