I was wondering if it is ok for Rooster to eat the same as the Hens, Layers Pellets Oyster shells and what not, I know that Chickens that havn't started laying yet should not eat Layer Pellets. Thanks

I wonder why it's not good for Hens to eat it before they lay.

Layer feeds are supplemented with calcium, to help the hen consistently lay hard shells. Since chicks do not lay eggs the extra calcium has to be processed and excreted by the kidneys. It is a lot of calcium for little kidneys to handle, so the possibility exists that the calcium can cause kidney damage, maybe to the extent to cause death.
It is not usually a poison that will kill chicks immediately, but more like a chronic disease- bad in the long run. The danger is lessened as the chicks get bigger, and more as hens start laying.

I and all my chicken raising friends have been doing it for years. Me mostly due to the fact that only layer feed seems to come in pellet form. It will be okay, but do make sure not to give it to chicks, if you have any. Its bad for the kidneys. :)
