I know this sounds funny, but someone told me pullets can get depressed if I always take their eggs? I have 3 silkie girls laying, but They aren't staying with the eggs that I know of, but they do burry them deep in the pine chips. Do they normally get broody, or is this normal behavior?

Nope they won't get depressed, however they may growl and peck you if you take the eggs out from under them.

Silkies do tend to go broody, but you know because they will never leave the nest except to eat, drink, and poop. Broodies also have a trademark growl and will try everything in their arsenal to keep you from taking their eggs.

Yours don't sound broody yet, so just enjoy the fresh eggs while you can :D
