Is it ok to give my drakes layer feed?

Hi, I have read some things that said that giving drake ducks layer pellets can give them kidney problems. Is that true? Do I need to get different feed for my 2 drakes? What should I get?

For a short period, it's not likely to due any harm, but yes, over time it may cause kidney problems that why it's best to offer an All Flock type feed, and offer a separate dish of oyster shells for the laying hens.

Any idea what I should give them? They are very greedy so choke on the crumbles, that's why I was giving them the layer pellets instead of the crumbles.

If you like Pellet-type feed, go with All Flock by Nutrena, or Flock Raiser pellets by Purina.
