Is it ok to give our new chicks romaine lettuce as a treat?
We introduced grit yesterday, they are 2 weeks old
It won't hurt to put one small piece in the brooder for them to explore. They may peck at it, but likely they won't consume too much of it. I do like to put things in the brooder for chicks to "investigate".
Good luck with your babies:)

They REALLY like lettuce.

Most chickens really enjoy lettuce. Mine didn't eat too many treats when they were younger (they liked oats, mealworms, and any bug I dug up in the yard--I'd go bug hunting for them). There was one strange green food that one batch of chicks enjoyed--clover chips. They LOVED dried out clover. Silly things :p
