After 10 days I have checked and I have a few eggs that were never fertile, they are very clear and just light up, so clearly never started to develop.

Is it OK if I levae these in my incubator to support the other eggs, and stop then fron sliding about, I am using a Brinsea Ovation 28 EX, so I would like to keep them pointy ends down in the trays.

Thanks for your help!

Let me first say, I'm not an expert (by far!)
But I've been studying and reading (this site, a bunch), and watching youtube vids, etc.

The consensus is to pull the eggs. They can literally explode.

I think other items can be used to take up space and/or help maintain temp. I keep my water bottles in my incubator (different brand/model that you though)...

I'm sure others will correct me if I've reported something wrong, but I'm confident you need to pull those eggs after day 10...

Yeh I get the whole pull the eggs thing, but I wonder why? if they are clear, they are not at risk of going off and exploding. When it comes to ones that have developed and died I get it that pulling them out is best.

I am just curious as to why for the clear ones, I guess there is always some chance they do go off and exploded, but for a totally normal egg that chance has to be very low I would think.

The risk is... if an egg explodes, you'd have to clean and disinfect in the middle of incubating.
If that only takes a few minutes, it's probably not a big deal. But what if something gets on your good eggs, etc. There's just too much risk in my opinion...

Has anyone ever had an egg that was never fertilized, or that had never started to develop explode?

I just can't see a reason why one would, I'm not saying I am right here, I just want to understand why it is a risk, and why would a normal egg exploded? the eggs in my cupboard dont just explode or go rotten.

Never tried a clear egg but i have had one explode and it was an awful mess. Try keeping them in for support but candle them every couple of days.

I assume your cupboard isn't 100-degrees either.
You are really wanting to leave them in. So, leave them in.
Just be prepared to do cleaning/rescue. And if you're prepared, it probably won't happen.
But if you're not prepared... :barnie

Eggs explode because they get bacteria inside the egg. It doesn't matter if they were fertile, infertile or quit.

I haven't had an exploding egg but I have had a couple of seepers. Where the egg cracks and the nasty starts to sleep out.

If you keep in any none developing eggs, which I think is fine, just check them regularly. You'll have a couple of days from when they go bad to get them out. If you're candling and sniffing daily you'll find it. Many infertile eggs or early quitters make it to day 21 just fine. It all depends on the bacteria.

OK I will check them when I candle on day 14 and tae it from there. Thanks for all the comments.
