This morning, I moved 2 of my 2.5 weeks old chicks out of brooder to their permanent cage. Here in Texas, it’s around 75-80 degree at night. Is it ok for 2.5 weeks old, only 2 chicks?
This evening, I checked on them, they didn’t drink or eat anything. Just stood still in the corner together. Even when I tried to hold them to show food and water, they didn’t try to escape like this morning? Just closed their eyes. Are they ok? They seem weak now. I worried when I moved them, they scared and hit their head to somewhere. My first time raising chicks.

Do you have the same food and water containers as before? Sometimes they don’t recognize them. I personally keep mine inside until about 3 and 1/2 weeks, so they have plenty of feathers for warmth and protection from rain, since I see them often just sitting out in the rain instead of taking shelter, also 2 alone is probably pretty scary for them, maybe outside for a few hours during the day for a few days to work up a good level of comfort? And back in at night?

In brooder, I feed them on the ground. Now I use feeder. Water feeders also are different. But I showed them their food and water. It is warm here so I dont worry about heat, I think they are so scared now. Just hope they wont starve to die tonight. I cant move them back tonight, but maybe tomorrow everything not better. I will move them back.

It sounds to me like they are cold. I would keep them in the brooder another week and a half.
I put mine out at about four weeks but I still put their heat lamp on them at first.

In Texas where?

I am in Houston.
I'd have one week old babies outside with zero heat right now.

I'm assuming you are talking about coturnix quail.
I’m in Houston too. I dont think they are cold because it s warm at night here. They are just scared.
Yes, they are coturnix quail.
