Is it ok to leave my 4 week old half feathered ducklings out in the rain? It isn’t cold (70 and muggy), and they are in a tractor with an end like a little house for shelter. When it started raining I checked on them and they had come out into the rain then were quacking and peeping at the door so I assumed they wanted in....nope I let them out to bring them in and they all jumped in their pool We had a heck of a time getting them back in the tractor....so currently they are outside in the rain, but I need to leave for a while and wasn’t sure since they aren’t fully feathered if they will be ok. Clearly they enjoy it, it’s like they think they are ducks or something lol

My biggest concern would be with getting waterlogged.

My big Saxony and Pekin were feathered enough at 4 weeks to weather several large rainstorms here in Florida.

Thanks, that was my concern too but I left them for about 1/2 an hour while I left and came back and it had stopped raining...until fully feathered I don’t plan on them often having that option to stay out in the rain. They do have a dry end to the tractor but it still worries me.

I have part of my run covered and access to the duck house so they can get out of the rain IF they want to. Mine have been outside since 4 weeks old seperated from my drake of course.
