Is it okay for my dogs to ingest chicken poop?

My mini Aussie, standard Aussie, and Pomeranian hang out with our hens and also in the yard where we let them out. Consequently, they are constantly eating chicken poop. Is this okay?? Thanks

I think it's ok we had a pug she ate it all the time as long as the chicken don't eat anything safe toxic like milkweed I'm sure she/he will be ok

I just DETEST their smelly breath!

She shouldn't be hurt unless your chickens have salmonella (which is rare but can be found in totally healthy chickens)

Dogs are dogs...they eat, roll in, and generally delight in poop. If you let your animals share the same space, there's little you can do to control it. We've nicknamed our flock "egg and doggie treat dispensers".

Think about what they’re tracking into the house too I have a collie and I only let him in the pen on occasion because the poop is on his paws and then I walk through the house on the floors he has walked on with chicken poop. I wouldn’t consider it healthy for you or your dogs.

My dog will eat cat poop if she has a chance. Kinda gross but dogs will be dogs. I had a friend who's dog even ate its own poop. No doggie kisses for me!

In most cases it's ok (just gross to us humans!) but if the dog starts showing digestive upset, vomiting or diarrhea I'd definitely stop them from eating it or at least excessive amounts of it.

My dog licks my garden boots clean just to get his daily fix of chicken poop.
