Is it okay to candle broody hens eggs

I would like to know if it is okay to do this. I'm curious to know if they are developing. They are on day 8.

I have done it at a week.......just dont keep them long and I have heard not to wash them...........

It's OK

I just put them in an egg carton and bring them in to candle (I slip a few temp eggs under the hen, so she doesn't fuss over where the eggs went).

I've never candled my broodys eggs ...always figured she knew more than I did....

I went out and candled them 3 of the 4 are good. The one was kinda hard to tell. Now we just have to wait.
