Is it okay to give chicks to a hen just sprayed with Permethrin?

I have a broody hen, that I wanted to give chicks to. My chicks are hatched and ready to go to their mom, but I just discovered signs of mites on some of my chickens yesterday. I mostly see it in my other coop, but I did see some signs on the rooster in the coop with the broody.
I immediately checked the broody for mites, but I didn't see anything. I sprayed her with Permethrin yesterday anyway, and I moved her to a pen inside, away from any other chickens or anything that might have mites on it.
My question now is, can I still give her the chicks, and if yes, how long should I wait before giving them to her?

I know you can use permethrin dusting powder on mom and the chicks run through it and get it also. Powder is perfectly safe. Permethrin is listed as very low toxicity to birds.

So, while I wouldn't plan it that way, I think it should be fine to give her the chicks as soon as her feathers are dried.

I've purposely dusted a hen with chicks who had mites. (Broody hens often develop mites due to sitting so much without dust bathing). They were only a couple of days old. All was well.

Thank you very much for your reply! It's been over 24 hours since I sprayed the mom, so do you think it's okay to give her the babies tonight?

I would....as long as momma has been broody for at least 2 weeks so that she is deep enough into being broody to foster.

Then watch momma and babes. I find generally the hen is willing in these situations, however, sometimes artificially hatched chicks don't catch on that the hen is where warmth is and are afraid of her.

Be sure to lock them in together so the chicks can't wander off and chill.

Keep food and water nearby.

Good luck fostering.

Yes, mom has been broody for over 2 weeks.
I went ahead and put the babies under her just now. She immediately spread herself out over them, so I think she's going to accept them! The babies also stayed under her, which is good. Fingers crossed I have a happy little family in the morning!
