is it pasty butt? Or is something else going on?

we have 6 new chicks - almost 2 weeks old. We noticed one of them had yellow poop hanging on but its not blocking the vent. However, it's obvious she doesn't feel well. Anyone know what this is and what we should do? We are feeding purina medicated start-n-grow. Also, their water has dded 4 T cider vinegar per one gallon of water.

Just wash her vent area off with little warm soapy water. I would take the ACV out of the water for now. That is too much anyway. 1 TB per gallon is the usual, and I wouldn't use it for little chicks until they are older. Make sure the chick is drinking well, and make sure there is a cooler spot in the brooder to escape from the heat. The hottest spot should be about 85 degrees F with a thermometer on the floor. Pasty butt is usually from dehydration, and normally after a week or so is not a problem. Is her vent area swollen?

Thank you for your response and advice. The vent area is not swollen and we already removed the ACV. The temperature ranges from 78 in the coolest part and 93 in the warmest. We will keep an eye on her and keep making sure they have plenty of clean water. Hopefully, taking her off the ACV will help.
