hey everybody!!!!!!!

today it was like 93 degrees in willow spring NC and so i knew there would be a posibility tht we wouldnt get all 6 eggs today, but i would never guess tht we would only get 2 eggs!!!!!!! is it posible tht if the tempature outside affects the egg production?????

Yes I think the heat effects every animal. It was in the 90's here in Ohio and out of my four duck eggs I only got one. It was from my early laying duck.

The most important thing you can do to help your chickens out is to keep them supplied with lots of cool, fresh water. Egg production is a water-intensive process and they absolutely must stay hydrated. Provide as much shade for them as you can on hot days too. Lots of folks offer their chickens frozen watermelon or milk jugs full of frozen water for them to snuggle alongside to try and keep cool. Whatever works for your chickens.
