My guess is "yes" beings that my neighbor's minature dachshund dog knocked up one of my great big female dogs. I don't know how he even reached her,,,,she must have laid down for him. I guess where there's a will there's a way!Julie

this is near a question i've wondered about. I have 25 chicks. different cochins,like 4 of each -buff, black, white, brahma etc. (teenagers right now) will they only mate with the same breed or are they going to "play the field" so to speak?

MrBig, there are actual "chicken egg candlers" that you can build--do a google search--but the flashlight works for me and a lot of people.
To make the candler, you get a box and put a lightbulb in it, and cut a hole in the box slightly smaller than the egg. Again, you are in the dark to do this. The light in the box shines thru the egg that is covering the hole. (That's sort of confusing, probably. LOL) Good Luck.

Country Girl, chickens do not stick to their own breed or color. They will cross with any other type chicken that is around.
