Is it possible for a chicken to lay two eggs in one day?

I was completely shocked to find the one of my hens laid twice today. I am absolutely certain of this since I only have six chickens and three lay green/blues eggs. Two lay dark brown and my Honey is the only one that lays a light pink/beige coloured egg. I feel that I am going crazy but she's been uber active both in the coop and outside over the past few weeks. The first egg was collected at 9AM this morning and the second one just now at 3:30PM. Thoughts?

It does happen but not frequently. Is your chicken kind of young as well?
Most likely the first egg just did not get expressed before night fall, and second was already in the construction stage.

You are not crazy. It is possible. If I remember correctly the record number of eggs a hen has laid in 24 hours is 7. It's not common, but it happens.
