Is it possible for chicks to arrive the day after they're shipped?

I ordered chicks from Cackle Hatchery and they are booked to ship Monday. Cackle hatchery is only a little over 3 hours from me so I was wondering if it's possible for them to arrive on Tuesday? I know they usually ship later in the today so I'm thinking maybe I'll get them Wednesday. But is it possible for them to be here Tuesday? Thank you all in advance!

I ordered from Meyer's about 8 hours from where I live. They were shipped on Monday, May 13th. I was sure they wouldn't arrive until Wednesday, but they arrived alive and well on Tuesday morning. These are my first chicks so I have no idea how typical that is.

I think it may depend on how the postal hubs and routes work. For example, even though the point of origin may not be far from the destination, shipments must first go to a central location, like Atlanta, for example, or Chicago, to be sorted. From there they get routed to district and then regional carriers and finally to more local ones until they end up at your local post office. Efficient for shipping flour and cocoa but time's of the essence when the item being shipped is a day-old chick in a cold snap.

Thanks all! I really hope by some chance they get here Tuesday :fl
Has anyone else ever had their chicks arrive the day after they're shipped?

Shipped things have to go through a hub first. They go from wherever they were shipped from to the area's hub, then probably to another hub or more, then to you. Even if it would be quicker for someone to just drive straight from point A to B without the hubs, that's not really how they do things, because it would be really inefficient for everyone.

So then it's most likely that they wouldn't be here until Wednesday?

Yes!
Every time I have ordered from Ideal Poultry I receive the chicks the next morning.
They hatch and ship on Wednesdays and I pick them up first thing Thursday morning at the post office.
