is it possible for my chickens to catch diseases from eggs i bought?

I just got done reading about this poor woman losing her sweet chicken to roundworms this morning. I'm new at this so This may be a rediculous qurestion or not? I have 4 chickens now-(RIR's) I am ordering eggs from a woman a couple hundred miles away-is it possible that I can eventually give my chickens a disease afters they hatch and are integrated? I understand about the quarantine issues for live birds-I understand separating chicks from other flock chickens-but now, that post has me thinking way too much-good thing I just dewormed my chiuaua and cocker spaniel puppy-Should I worry at all after these chicks hatch?

Hi - that was my who lost my sweet Dumpling.

One thing I should add about Dumpling is that I suspect that she may have had worms and/or cocci for a long, long time. I noticed blood in her droppings last fall and failed to diagnose and treat it until January. Ignorance is not bliss and her illnesses didn't just go away on their own.

Woulda coulda shoulda.

It's not really likely that your chicks will infect the older ones with anything. It could happen the other way around but as long as you've never had any illnesses (what my girl had is naturally in most dirt), all should be fine.

The key things I've learned from this experience were:
1. Monitor for illness symptoms vigilantly.
2. Be prepared to diagnose & treat immediately.
3. Learn learn LEARN. Know as much as possible about possible diseases so that you are prepared to do #2.
4. Be prepared to cull if necessary.
