Having learned just a little about genetics, I realize that phenotype doesn't always tell you much about the genotype.

I know someone with fawn and white runners who is wondering what a cross with a pastel drake might look like. Has anyone done that? Is it even predictable?

Here's the drake - I have posted questions about him before

Keep in mind that the color called "Fawn and White" in the UK is actually the same as the "Penciled" color in the US. The American version of "Fawn and White" is a lighter colored duck, so anyone from the US that is helping you with this question might have the wrong genotype in mind.

I did NOT know how to work the calculator thing, so what would the result of a welsh harlequin male and a black and wite pied muscovie?

It would be a sterile (unable to breed) "hinny" duck - Muscovy ducks are a completely different species from the other domestic breeds, which are all Mallard-derived. If you cross a Muscovy male with a Mallard-derived female, the result is a "mule" duck. If the drake is a Mallard-derived breed and the female is a Muscovy, you get a "hinny" duck. I'm not sure about the color genetics when you're crossing species like that, but I doubt it's predictable.

I know it would be a mule duck!! But i was just wondering what the colors would be, but..I guess wel never know until i find out!!
