He is the ONLY roo now, though I used to have a few more. I let someone come to get all of my extras with the only condition that they had to leave me ONE roo last summer when I had way too many. I was hoping for one of his brothers to be left behind instead since he is a crower but he was the only one that refused to be caught. He was just too fast.
Anyway, this is the only gentle roo I've ever had. One of my poor hens used to always have a bare back since she was the favorite of the last roo that I had. I gave him to a co-worker who had another more dominant rooster to put him in his place. In all of the years I've kept chickens, this is the first time I've ever witnessed this balancing act. I've had gentle roos before, but even then they had to grab the neck feathers.
