Is it possible?

Hey everyone! I'm new to BYC! But I have a question about my hens laying! We have 10 chickens 9 are hens and one is a rooster. We have 5 guineas and 7 chicks that hatched a week ago. But yesterday we got 10 eggs when we only have 9 hens!!!! Is it possible for a hen to lay 2 eggs a day?

2 eggs a day is very unusual, as a hen's reproductive tract can really only work properly over a 24 hour period regardless of her breed

Glad you joined us! My grandparents had a hen many years ago that laid twice a day, on their bed! She'd sneak into the house in the mornings and again late afternoon to lay her egg. I've no idea what breed she was though. So, yes, it is possible, but very unusual. Lucky you!
