Is it safe to keep the coop open to the run at night

I wouldn't leave the door open at night. The chances of you waking up to feathers is too great. But, if you feel your fencing is secure enough to keep away any predators that try to get at your chickens, then you can leave the door open. If you happen to decide to leave the door open, you're risking a lot. Just remember, that it can happen.

If the run is completely enclosed including the top, and has a skirt or buried wire around the perimeter, depending on the size of the mesh... it would be ok to leave the pop door open. A raccoon will eat a chicken right through the chicken wire. A weasel can get through any opening greater than 1/2" mesh, and they are serial killers who will kill everything that moves in one night just for the thrill of it. all it takes is one predator breaching your security to wipe out your flock.
