Is it safe to let ducks and chickens free range in Northwest Arkansas?

This is a silly debate....Scaring someone from letting their Birds out is not fair....If They have a fenced yard and stay with the Birds as they free range then the chances are much lower....I agree things happen but dont agree that we need to be so cautious .....
I never said for them not to free range. And I don't believe my post is scaring anyone.
If you don't want to be overly cautious with your birds that's ok.
I also think we're all talking about a different idea about free range. You're talking in a fenced area with them being watched. The other poster is apparently talking about on their own without any fencing. I'm talking about alone in a large area without supervision.
I free range over 300 chickens 24/7 inside a fenced 3 1/2 acres.

How do I know Martins will move in?

You don't but it can't hurt to try. They seem to like those big condo. type houses. My neighbor put one up in early spring and when it when it had several martins in it, she put up a second house and it filled. There are websites which describe ways to attract them. They eat flying insects so they help with the mosquitoes and flies as well. They fly south for the winter so my ducks are on their own then. But they come back in early spring before the predatory birds have young to feed and that is when I think my ducks are most vulnerable.

Moonshiner,what breed(s) do you have?
Too many to list. Those are my pet/laying flock so a lot of birds from my breeding groups plus any odds and ends that we just enjoy.
Probably about 20 different breeds in there.
My signature lists what we breed. Mostly leghorns.

well, I live in a structured neighborhood with lots of bushes and shrubs in my fenced in back yard. And I'm live trapping all the animals I can and letting them go very very far away. What could kill them then?
Well you can't trap birds of prey so no getting them completely out of your area if they are there.
And it would be almost impossible to trap every predator around so that leaves any you don't catch.
Dogs are always a concern .

What is your issue?....
Stop your debate and let this original poster let her Birds out....If your too scared then keep yours in...?
Quality of life is more important than being terrified your whole life....Birds survive...Her yard is fenced.....:th
