Generally to my understanding it's okay to let the hen come and go to eat/drink/etc. They won't leave longer than they have to. Last month I had my first two broody hens and I was always so worried at first when I would see them up and about. But generally they would only be up 20 minutes to maybe an hour tops, and they both had successful hatches. I do live in Florida with pretty high temps during this time of year, for what it's worth.Basically title. My mother wants to put out the broody chicken so she can scrat and whatnot but I'm worried. Hehe well I'm sure she knows best. Good luck with the hatch!Alright, that calms me down a bit. Going to let her out and hope she comes back on her own. Wish we had Florida temps here right now
Edit: Set her little house(cat igloo) outside and she doesn't even appear to want to leave. Not going to force her and ill stay out with her for another 10 minutes before taking her back ![]()
