that the chicks with red combs and wattles that are mock-fighting each other are boys?
 
Depends on what age they are that they have the red combs and wattles. All chicks do the chest bumping thing. It's part of setting up the pecking order.
 
Pullets will flare their hackles at each other and even sometimes at a cockerel. But I would say that "typically," it seems to be the cockerels that do it the most from my observations.
 
The ones that are doing it are 4-5 week old's. We shall see, right?

Cool! Off to charge batteries for my camera. We have a farmers market every Friday here in town and would love to find most of the cockerels a home.
