I read I should mix it with play sand. I work with sand all the time and I'm thinking it will help avoid the dustYes, that should be safe. Since it's diatomaceous earth based I'm thinking it's fine to use. Just make sure that It's not blowing around in their coop or they are inhaling it!
Agreed, good plan! Hope this works!I read I should mix it with play sand. I work with sand all the time and I'm thinking it will help avoid the dust
Well I know it kills them I just didn't know if it was safe. It's indoor use too it only really says to wash hands before eating and stuff or whatever but it doesn't say NOT to eat it specifically lol maybe that's a law suit... But it only really specifically says to not breath it for prolonged exposureJust because it contains DE...doesn't mean it's safe or effective.
Not sure what silicone dioxide is.

Unfortunately it is also safe for all the external and internal parasites that attack chickens. The biggest scientific study I have ever read on DE and its effect on chicken mites and lice read something like this.

"I use DE and I have never had a chicken mite or a chicken louse on my place".
Please people this is not an endorsement of DE but rather a statement of how lucky you are.
No, it doesn't, it has other ingredients....and I think what @chickengeorgeto is saying is that DE will not kill a parasite infestation. It only contains DE
