Is it to late to bond with my duck?

My Mama duck only hatched one of her eggs. It has been almost 2 days and I really want to bond with the baby, but every time I take her away from the mama to get some one on one time she just looks around and calls for the mama the whole time. Is it to late to bond with her? Didn't want to completely take her away from the mama duck, but I also want her to be more like a pet.

I've never had a duck hatch eggs before (I'm sure someone more experienced will come along) but I know that they love treats. Bring her some meal worms Everytime you visit and Everytime you pick her up. Soon she'll come to you and nibble at your fingers. Handle her daily and she'll grow to love you (though she'll still always see Mom as Mom.)

I suggest the same as @Riley Adams. The duckling has already imprinted on a duck and mom will always be mom. As stated above, treats are the way to go. You're not taking the duckling away from its mother, but you're still showing it love and affection. Peas, mealworms, greens, cat kibble, etc. are some treats ducks love and they are also good supplements for their diet. Ducks especially love grass soup, just put some grass in a bowl of water and they love it. With ducks everything is better with water. At first just give them the treats where they can eat on their own, but gradually working your way up to hand feeding is a step in the right direction. It's definitely not too late to bond with the duckling. Ducks make great pets/companions you just need to gain their trust. It takes patience.
Also, I'd love to see some pics of momma duck and her baby. :pop

How precious. I usually give mom and babies their time but I am always out there as much as possible and when giving out treats moms teach their kids how yummy things come from that big person. Then once she has left them on their own they come around to get their own treats. Mine are not lap ducks by any stretch of the imagination but they all will hang around me when I go out to sit with them. I do enjoy watching mamas and their kids though it is very relaxing.
