Hi- I bought 4 chicks a week ago from my feed store and then bought another chick from a local lady. They both been vaccinated for Mereks and are on medicated starter. I knew they had to be separated but didn’t realize they had to be for far apart. They have been in separate brooder together today but in the same room. Is it too late to separate? I feel bad for the lone chick, she’s only 4 weeks old. Should I go by another from the seller?

Hmm.... I thought if they had been vaccinated, you did NOT want them on medicated feed. Now I am confused. Let me ask my go-to folks, @aart and @Eggcessive. Ladies?
I believe you are correct. My 8 week olds were Not vaccinated therefore, they get Purina's Medicated Starter & Grower feed.

Are the chicks the same age or close to it? I would put them together. If ages are not very close (more than 1-2 week difference) then I'd start with a separator in brooder and if both sides do well, you can remove the barrier in a couple of days.

Anything that one chick might have as far as diseases has likely already been passed onto the others so no point in doing quarantine now, and as it's not ideal to have a lone chick, it would be far better for it to be with the others.
