I was just wondering and asked the question because mine developed earlier. I'm sorry my I experienced differently but I was just saying what I know.

My barred meat mixes are the same age and I have one whose comb is turning salmon-red, and he’s much lighter silver than the rest. They were “attempted” female selected by the farm since I’m in a no rooster zone but still sold straight run.

anyway all that to say some of my girls have bigger combs like yours but the boy is definitely more red!
