Is it True that you cannot give away less than 6 ducklings at a time?

It's not just state laws that you need to check. You also need to check local laws.

You need to check county laws (or parish...). You need to check city or township laws, or any other local areas that might pertain to where you live.

I think the "take six" thing for TSC isn't law, but company policy. Our TSC has the "take six" rule as well, but other, locally owned stores do not.

They probably mistook the company policy for law.

Some people see something and assume that it's because of a law, instead of company policy.

It is law for everyone, it is under the animal cruelty law

i guess that if you want to sell fewer than 6 in New York, they need to be two months old or older. However, as this does not appear to be the law in CT, make sure your listing includes a statement that you are located in CT, and the NY required minimum number of ducklings does not apply. Make sure that any sales transaction does not take place in NY; don't deliver or arrange to meet there.
