I have a chick that is about 10 days old. Its parents are some type of bantoms. I don’t know what sex it is but I have noticed that it is making movements as if it is trying to crow. Can a chick that young be trying to crow or is there just something stuck in its throat.

No- shouldn't be crowing yet. It may depend on creed- but I have several and most don't start their pathetic (but cute) little squawking until they are several weeks old. Maybe try giving him some grit/oyster shells?

Its probably trying to swallow. Some times some chicks are greedy and gobble food faster than they can really take it in. Resulting in a crowing like stance and gaping mouth trying to compensate.

Thats what I think it is.

i have oegbs & when they were less than 5 weeks old i cant tell you how many times i had to use a wet qtip to get stuck chick crumbles outta their throat!! i ended up smashing up the crumbles so i wouldnt have to dig anymore. some have used a food grinder to make the crumbles smaller
