Is it worth it to process 8 mo old duck for freezer?

I have an extra blue Swedish drake, he's a social misfit and doesn't have an endearing personality. I have yet to process any of my ducks (though I originally got ducks as a dual-purpose addition to our farm) because they've been too entertaining. This guy has got to go tho.

Will an 8 month old duck be edible? Would he even be stew-worthy? I've read ducks are a pain to pluck and even dispatching them can be tricky.

So, should I invest the effort required to send him to freezer camp? Or would it be better to use him as bait for the fox traps?

Thanks!!

We keep our pekin layers for a period of two years, and then we process them for both human and animal consumption. Some cultures prefer older ducks, as they tend to be more flavorful. If necessary, the meat can be ground up and made into tasty sausage.
