Is the bottom of the little giants incubator water proofso on lock down i can just fill the bottom when lock down comes?? Or will that be to much humidity for them? or should i just get a little bowl fill it with water and put a sponge in it and set it on top of the screen part by the eggs?? Does anyone have any suggestions?????

I have 2 little giants and neither are water proof both have holes. I used can lids and put them in under the wire foor a little extra humidity. Like you said a bowl with a sponge works best i've never been able to get more than 75% humidity even adding hot water and a sponge so I wouldn't worry about humidity being too high. I've also added fans to my little giants and they dry out real fast so i'm always adding water or a bigger bowl to hold more water.

For my hatch, I had a folded bath towel underneath to collect any spills I had. We also put a couple hand towels inside it underneath the screen to hold water to keep the temp regulated. Found that plugging one of the holes with the red stopper and adding the towels to hold water really helped to keep the temp and humidity stable. It took a little while to finally figure out what would work to keep it steady. Good luck with your hatch!

I spilled water all over my table by overflowing the water spots! I think the holes are for extra ventilation. Here are some suggestions I have heard on her or done myself from advice on BYC...

A soaked feminine product such a poise pads (haven't tried it but sounds like it would work well)
a paper towel rolled up with one end sticking out of one of the air holes that you can wet when it gets dry (I did this it works well and keeps the air moist)
I have also put wet sponges in the bottom, but since I didn't put them in a shallow dish or something, I think after they dried out they absorbed the moister in the air

I also got some small tubing from TSC that I ran from through the other air hole so I could remotely fill the water.... I tried using a turkey baster to fill it (big mess!!) this time I am going to use a syringe and water colored with food coloring so I can see when it gets full or when its empty.

Hope that helps!!

a bendy straw and a small funnel is how I fill mine through the holes with the red caps, If you get a cheapy enough straw it works good(i found both at the local .99 store).
