Is Lock Down Crucial???

Ok, it makes more sense to me now. I will leave well enough alone, and I installed an aquarium line into the bottom of my incubator so I can add water if need be with out opening it. I know mother nature knows best, and perhaps there is some how that a broody hen knows when it should stay on the nest. I guess we can only do our best, Thanks everyone.
