I think my pullet might be a rooster! Check out the new feather growth, they are pointy! She/he is 6 1/2 weeks old. If she is a rooster, I have to get rid of her. Help!!!

I was told she/he was a Banty. Not sure if that is accurate though!

For future reference, is it normal for a pullet to have vivid colors like red, green, and blue?

At six weeks old, I am going to bet that its a roo. He has way too much red in his comb to be a girl.

the female chickens of certain breeds will be not as colorful as the males, such as OEG's, Dutch bantams, for example. Those this does not apply to breeds where the sexes are the same color, such as barred rocks, solid colored birds in any breed.
But, almost always, the males will have the pointed saddle and hackle feathers which will give it away, with the exception of Campines and Sebrights.

It looks like a rooster to me. I wouldn't get rid of it yet though we all looking at a monitor could be wrong. I would wait until he crows or you are absolutly positive it is a rooster.
