HI, first post ever!!!
yesss.gif

Ok so I have five 21 week old chickens, and when i bought them at the feed store they said they where pullets(except for the one straight run RIR, that Im sure is a rooster) So one of my Buff orpington pullets looks like a rooster she is the same size as the RIR rooster and twice as big as all the other pullets. i have looked on other sites for help and heard to look for the spurs on the legs. I checked and she has none while my RIR is budding them now.I also saw her trying to MOUNT both of my older hens the other day,but Ive heard that is a dominant behavior. Here are couple of pics. (It was hot that day and she has her wings out to the side) Im just not sure what to think .

Thanks for welcoming me guys!

I was really hoping that she wasn't turning out to be a he since we lost so many pullets to the fox this year. Im not sure I can keep him. We shall see.
Thanks for your help peeps!

Sorry, it is a cockerel and looks to be a great eater. Please check out the predator section for advice on protecting your flock. Fox are very persistent, can jump high, dig, climb - if you free range - it's easy pickings.
