Is My Ameraucana Really A Pullet??

Hello Everyone! Thanks for clicking on my post!

I'm in a conundrum.. I got 4 Ameraucana chicks out of TSC's 'Pullet' bin and 8 other assorted breeds. It's been 8 weeks to the day since I got this set of 12 chickens. Out of my 4 Ameraucana's, my sweet Arabella, has shown signs of a large red comb with some interesting but also unsettling 'pointy' feathers. I truly would not mind if Bella was really a Beau but I'm just curious to see what others have to say. This is my first time with the breed and the coloring and feather shape is throwing me off, my first hint was the curvature of the tail. Google image searches haven't done much for me, and the other 'siblings' also have a more varied look about their feathers but have distinctive female characteristics overall.

But, like I said, I don't know if she's just coming of age a bit faster than the other girls or a completely different gender! I do have another roo in my batch of bantams but that red comb showed within the first 4 weeks.. no question about him.

Here are pictures of my sweet Arabella:

Photo #1 is a nice little blurred side angle of her.

Photo #2 She's located the farthest to the Right, The comb is very defined, and you can see some pointed feathers with no real rounding. Her siblings are the fawn Ameraucanas pictured.

Photo #3 Gotta include the booty shot

She doesn't seem to have a saddle, which I've learned is the one true way to really determine when working with all breeds of chickens. But then again, if I knew, I wouldn't be asking on BYC.

The way her comb looked as a juvenile never had me question a thing, but now I'm not sure.

Just a quick question.. what makes you think that she is actually a he?
At that age her comb shouldn’t be so large and red. If you compare it to some of her siblings they have much much paler and smaller combs.
and taking a look at the siblings, is there any indication that they are also boys?
I don’t see any others that look like cockerels to me but if you could get some clearer pictures of them that could help!

Cockerel and him and a few of the other pullets are actually Easter Eggers or "AmerIcanas", not true AmerAUcanas.
I was told that they were true Ameraucanas what gives away the EE?

*Also, updated spelling, thank you. Going to have to add that one to autocorrect! It keeps wanting to change it to 'America' haha

Ameraucanas have a breed standard. Easter Eggers do not as they are the mutts of the chicken world. True Ameraucanas have slate blue legs and only come in certain colors such as black, blue, wheaten, brown red, etc. Your birds are not a recognized color and do not have the proper leg color, meaning they are EE.

Ameraucanas have specific coloring (shanks and feathers). I’d have to look up the SOP but the few I know from having four genuine (from a breeder) I don’t see pictured. EEs can be any color and TSC uses hatcheries that, for the most part, don’t sell legit Ameraucanas. Even Murray McMurray’s aren’t SOP from what I found on their website

I'll add some more pictures to this thread when I get a chance, I don't think I have clear ones from this afternoon when I started pondering about my sweet newly named 'Beau'.

But, I totally agree about the comb! Thank you OnlySympathy :hugs
