Is My Ameraucana Really A Pullet??

I'm not seeing any cockerels in the background.

Biggest tell is the redness of his comb, but he's also got a male specific feather pattern.
The siblings started off with the same comb as he, but her's now his has really become more defined and the behavior he was displaying seemed very roo-esk. It's all starting to make sense now.

Happy to have another Roo! I'm looking forward to potentially hatching some non-feathered feet chicks! My other guy is a d'Uccle and those are some strong genes. I would rather pass on that beautiful blue egg color!

Thank you for the information!

Ameraucanas have a breed standard. Easter Eggers do not as they are the mutts of the chicken world. True Ameraucanas have slate blue legs and only come in certain colors such as black, blue, wheaten, brown red, etc. Your birds are not a recognized color and do not have the proper leg color, meaning they are EE.
Okay that's interesting because the 'siblings' and I say that term loosely, have slate blue through out. Where beau has what looks like masking where they are blue but a little yellow pokes through.

Making him more similar to my Sapphire Olive Eggers in that respect, besides my one SOE with fibromelanosis who is black. Combs, eyes, and all.

Ameraucanas have specific coloring (shanks and feathers). I’d have to look up the SOP but the few I know from having four genuine (from a breeder) I don’t see pictured. EEs can be any color and TSC uses hatcheries that, for the most part, don’t sell legit Ameraucanas. Even Murray McMurray’s aren’t SOP from what I found on their website

Lemon chicken, I had to look up what SOP meant.. but I think I may have to pick up one of those books to have on hand. Sounds like an interesting read. I've never shown chickens just enjoyed the hobby, but as I go into the genetics side I'd definitely like a guide. I've been learning through reading a ton of posts and cross refferencing. These ladies, and now guy, are new to me compared the heritage breeds I've kept in the past.

Thanks for the info!
