Is my Apdoe incubator’s temp reader wrong?

My Apdoe incubators temp won't go past around 80 F. Had it in my room and then switched it to the living room that was warmer. Still didn't work so I put the styrofoam packaging around it and now it's sitting at around 85 degrees F. It's supposed to be around 99.5 F. I'm starting to think maybe the reader is wrong. If I can't get a temp reader I think I'll just candle in 5 ish days and see how it is. And I'm getting frustrated because this is the second problem with it, at first the charger it came with was faulty, I replaced it and now everything is working except the heat.
