In early June, my neighbor and I took on 7 hens from a friend who was moving unexpectedly and could no longer keep them. I think they are around 4 months old now, but I'm not positive. 6 of our girls are Golden Comets, and we have one Australian Australorp named Medea who is supposed to be a hen as well. However Medea has been crowing, and getting louder everyday. We live in a downtown area, and she can now be heard from inside the house early in the morning :/
From the pictures I've seen online, I thought she was a hen, but I can't help but wonder, especially given her behavior at times. She sometimes gets quite irritated when I touch the other chickens. Her crowing doesn't quit sound like full on crowing, but it's loud still. So I'm hoping I can get your opinion on whether we have a secret rooster or a bossy alpha hen

The above image is one I took this morning. I'll try to get better pictures of her (or him) if that helps! I also have a video of her crowing somewhere on my phone.
