Is my blue cornish broody?

She has been in the nest all day and has been a little moody when I retrieved the eggs. Tonight when I closed up the coop I checked on her and she was still there. I reached my hand in and she made a strange noise and pecked me hard!

I don't know whether to be happy or upset.

How soon will I know if she will stay broody or if she is just laying down on the job.

that is what my chickens do when they get broody, of course, they scold and peck at me when I reach under and get their daily eggs. But when brooding they will stay on the nest.
