Suddenly, my brown leghorn's spur spots... seem to be growing! My RIR chick has soft squishy spots where roos get spurs, but my leghorn chick has firm.. almost hard growth spots there instead.

She seems very hennish in every other way to me... but I am very new to this, only a year under my belt, so I would very much like your opinion on this.

See, my hubby finally said I could have a roo. I want an Americauna... so knowing my luck, my "hen" leghorn, will end up a roo... and while I will keep her and love her just the same if she is a he... I do NOT have the room for two roosters, so I need to know ASAP, so I know whether or not to continue my search for an Americauna rooster.

It might be a hen, leghorns usually have big combs even when they are little, she looks a little older than 5 weeks old tho. But if she really is 5 weeks old just wait for 2 more weeks and then his or her feathers will start to change.
