Is my button broody?!?!?

She never laid any eggs but has been burrowing holes and sitting in them and occasionally taking chips of wood and sticking them under her. She sits there all fluffed up for about 10 minutes and goes for food and returns.

Man...I wish someone would send me button quail eggs so I can check this out...

she may start laying soon actually...that could be what she's doing prepairing to lay

Sorry but they all do that. Generally when they get closer to laying though so you may get eggs soon. Soon being in the next couple weeks. Sometimes my males dig holes too. Sometimes it seems to be for laying nests but sometimes it just seems to be the equivalent to chicken dust bathing.

I have to agree mine love to make little nest to sit in sometimes they lay an egg in there sometimes they just sit there the males do it to. My little pairs cuddle up in it at night and sleep too. So cute to see
