Is My California White a Roo?

No tell tale cock-a-doodle-do but "she" caws and peckes the other birds in the butt. She is the smallest of my 4 birds but seems to run the place. My friend who seems to know told me 6 weeks ago that he thought she was a he. 24 weeks old. It's hard to find much information about this breed on line. I hope she is a she because she is great fun.

I am gonna guess that it is a pullet and that she is at the top of the pecking order with your other hens, I raise Barred Rocks and I have a pullet that is 14 weeks old and pecks on the birds that are a year old or older....

I agree - she's a pullet - no pointed hackle or sickle feathers. California whites are part leghorn and will have larger combs - that may be why your friend suspects a roo.
