Hi everyone, I needed some help with my chicks. I’m new at this so I’m not sure what to expect.
It’s day 23 and there’s and egg piped all around the middle but the chick is not moving. I opened it a little bit to see if I noticed breathing or anything, but nothing. The yolk seems to be fully absorbed. Should I just leave it under the hen or should I remove it??

Day 23 ?
Chicken eggs should hatch on day 21. The chick must be dead. Does this hen have any other eggs under her ? Does she have any other chicks under her right now ?

If there is not any movement or signs of breathing at least, I am afraid the chick may be dead. At this point as the chick managed to zip all the way around, you would be quite save in carefully removing the top (the fat end) of the egg and looking to see the status of the chick. Sorry!
