I got two little chickens from the feed store who had no idea what they were except that they were bantams. They are still squeaking. I looked it up and figured out what they are. One is very aggressive with the big girls and is very protective over it's sibling. The big girls are afraid of it. It has a big comb and wattles. I hope it's not a roo. I will have to re-home it if it is. :-( It's so cute! It's pure white and so fluffy! How big do they get? They are half the size of my Barred Rock. Smaller than my Silkies too. Any way to tell age? I hate not knowing.

I don't have any real experience with bantams, so I couldn't really tell you. I think it sometimes depends on the individual bird. Sometimes you'll get a loud one and other times you'll get one who doesn't even peep often

Finally got a picture. Please say hen!

It is a rooster! He has been crowing at about 5:30 am. Dangit! He's so cute! I love to watch him run. I'm in good standing with my neighbors and I want to keep it that way. ;-)

My white Cochin looks a bit like this but hasn't crowed yet but was very aggressive to my older non cochin hen so we have him sequestered but in great conditions. Do you have any tips on introductions to other types for these Cochins? We have Rhode Island Red and the Buff Orpington and a Plymouth rock (all hens) which was also rescued as was this Cochin?

It turned out to be a rooster. He does the cutest crow at 5:30 am. I just let him pick on the big girls for a couple days. He isn't big enough to hurt them. They get along great now! I even have bunnies in there now.
