Is my cockerel blind?

I went out to check on my chickens today, thinking the fighting between my 2 older cockerels was over as all seemed calm, I noticed Pete’s eye had a white “spot” in/by/on his eye. He seems blind. Standing in the corner, hitting his head on the doorway going into the coop. Could this be temporary? Or is it likely permanent? I can’t tell if the actual eye is completely gone or if the white showing is some type of inflammation.
He doesn’t seems to have any reaction to me being up close to him and typically does. He also seems to be “crying” rather than crowing tonight.
I plan to remove him when my husband gets home from work but until then I’m unable to on my own to evaluate him further.

It looks like impaired vision- although the ones I’ve seen are less pure white. I doubt he’s fully blind. Have you tested it?

I have not. I haven’t been able to get him out yet since I’m alone with the kids currently. My husband should be home in a bit and we will be able to get him out to look further and see.

It looks like foam or gunk in his eye. I would clean it out with a wet tissue. You can get saline or eye wash and flush the eye twice daily, and follow that with putting a small dab of either Terramycin eye ointment or plain Neosporin. Sometimes gunk in the eye is a sign of a respiratory disease, getting something in the eye, or getting pecked. Is there any sneezing, congestion, or labored breathing?

No, there hasn’t been any of those signs of illness He’s been healthy. The only change was that yesterday his brother and him started fighting, that’s why I’m leaning towards a peck or some type of injury. There’s potential that it could be gunk or something stuck too I suppose the way they were tossing each other around yesterday. I had been hoping that was just done but then I noticed his eye and the fact that the other cockerel goes after him and he runs but no longer tries to fight.
