My “barnyard mix”cockerel started out 100% black and gray, but at about 8 weeks, started showing a single red spot which has grown at 12 weeks to many red spots. Do you think he will be red as an adult? The red color looks the same as my Rhode Island Red hens, of which I have 5 of. Perhaps one of them is the mother. Your thoughts?

He will likely just have red over his shoulders. It is a common male trait.😊

I had a white rooster that started getting red on his wings and now at 23 weeks his shoulders and wings are red. I think your cockerel will also get the red leakage on his wings just like mine. So no, probably won't turn all red. Blue and red is quite a pretty color combo in my opinion. Very pretty cockerel!
