My duckling Bubbli was very fortunate to survive thanks to gods help, as she was diagnosed with Limber neck disease and Botulism. Her partner died unfortunately, and she was left with a lame foot. Thank God she is fine now. I was just concerned on her growth. I've been told that ducklings grow into full Ducks by week 8, and I think my baby is looking a little small for her age. Could you guys please tell me if her size is ok for 6 weeks? Thank you :)

hi there and I feel for you with your recent experience.

Your duckling does look younger than 6 weeks but they can and do catch up given the right support.

What's your set up for your duckling and the food : drink regime pls ?

How is your duck in themselves? Are they bright and active ?

Hi yes, the duck is happy and active too since Monday. Before that since two weeks ago she was highly sick and had boutulism and didn't move eat or drink much but she is fine now. I feed her Chick starter with Pulses and also feed her scrambled eggs. She also eats tomatoes throughout the day. Could you please help me?

What a lovely and varied diet !

Next questions !

Is the chick crumb medicated ?

Are you adding in a b complex supplement anywhere ?

If you haven't already, I would also start to weigh ducky once a day and record it so you can see what's happening there.

If she is bright in herself and eating / pooping then things are probably not desperate and the illness paused their development as all their resources went to fight the botulism.

I hope you are looking after you as much as you are looking after ducky ! These can be very stressful times for duck parents.

Thanks :)
Also, the Chick starter is not medicated and no I am not using the supplement. And tg she is doing very well now, very active and is eating a lot! I have also noticed growth after her recovery so I hope that she grows into an adult asap. And yes, I'm trying my best to look after her as much as possible :D

Th
I had a poorly hatchling this year - we gave them b complex and AC&E vitamins + selenium until they had caught up with the others.

I am so glad she is doing better - and it sounds like you have done a great job so well done you !
Thank you so much ❤️ Really appreciate it! I'll add those supplements to her feed. Thanks again :)
