Is my duckling sick??? ):

So the duckling from my earlier post finally detatched from his egg. His yolk sac got smaller and dried up, but a little piece is still hanging from his belly, which I heard will come off with time

But aside from that, I am worried about him because he seems to be having a lot of trouble progressing as fast as the others did. His left eye looks like it is sealed up, and it wont open up like his right eye does. And he has a bit of a runny nose. I'm not sure if it's just from the water I gave him a while ago that he didn't swallow all the way, or some type of symptom for an illness. Also, he is a swedish blue-rouen crossbreed, and so are his siblings, but his siblings have bright yellow chests (they look more like swedish blue ducklings than rouen ducklings), but this little guy has no yellow coloring on his chest, it's just white. I can't afford to take him to see a veterinarian, because the only one near me wants $70 for a copay. That aint happenin'. If anyone knows of an illness or a treatment or anything for ducklings with the following symptoms, that'd be much appreciated!!!

• runny nose
• left eye wont open
• breathing hard and fast
• panting
• restlessness
• constantly tucking head under right wing
• dull coloring compared to siblings

Also, can I put him in the brooder with others??

What I would do is get some gro-gel into him, get him into some warm (90F) water up to the tops of his legs, keep him warm enough - not too warm - and dry enough after bath, cuddle him and talk to him and see if with a little head-washing his eye opens.

There is also a product called sav-a-chick, that is - if I understand correctly - vitamins for littles.

He seems to be getting a little better, he's picking up his head and movian around a little more. But his eye is still shut and the other one's crusty. But he's been getting lots of loves so hopefully he'll be okay! Thanks again!
